    Menzerna for noobie?

I really want to try Menzerna Power Lock based on results Autodermatology did on my car a 1-1/2 ago, but I was wondering what Menzerna Polish do I need?? At the time he said my clear coat was really really soft. I searched but got overwhelmed quickly with the info available. I thought maybe Mernzerna SF or FG, but I`m only quessing. My car was painted red in 2012 and the paint is in good condition. Thanks.

There is absolutely not enough information from you to help you here..

Need to know the color, year, make, and model of your car to start. Also, tell us in more detail about the paint or repaint of your car..

Need to know the condition of your paint currently, as you look at it in the sun.

Need to know in more detail what you are seeking to achieve..

Need to know if you have the tools needed to achieve whatever it is you want to do here..

Need to know how much experience if any, you have working on the paintwork of your or other vehicles..

I know you didn`t ask this, so disregard me if you like.

    But

Save a few $$$ and try this

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0

"rumor" had it years ago, that they were pretty much the same. I tried both and saw no diff, if anything the wg lasted a touch longer

    90` Mazda RX7 - Owned since new.

Painted red in 2012 with clear top coat. Type paint unknown?

Paint correction done in Jul 2012 due to painter`s helper buffing swirls into finish. Swirls all gone now.

In the sun looks good with minimal surface scratches from wear and tear. Just needs hand polish and sealant (my opinion)

Driven one-two weeks a month and is garage stored

Little experience with detailing: Weekend do-it-yourselfer

    Tools / Products I have:
    -Flex 3401 (used 3 times)
-Mostly Hydro & Lake County Pads (white/yellow/blue/black/orange)
-I have and use BFWD clay, polish, sealant
-I have and use Wolfgangs sealant

I was looking to get some Menzerna polish that is good for paint in good condition that requires little touch up for minor scratches in finish

you are definitely using some really nice products already. if the paint is still pretty decent, i like using bfgep since it doesn`t utilize abrasives to polish. it not only cleans, but can even fill in some minor swirls/scratches that you may have missed. good stuff. also, bfms over those sealants will give you even more depth and warmth.
    p.s. nice ride!

    JDonnell -

Thanks for the information update - that is a beautiful, shade of red on a beautiful car !

If you are saying they told you the paint is soft, and it does not have very many visible defects that bother you, then certainly, the Flex 3401VRG with a Lake Country Hydro-Shred Tangerine Pad and Menzerna SF4500 (PO85RD), cut of 1, gloss of 5, out of 5, could probably do a great job of polishing the paint to a higher level of clarity and smoothness.

If for some reason that Pad color was not aggressive enough then the Cyan Hydro-Shred would have more correction ability but still finish down very nicely.

As far as using Menzerna Power Lock, have used it for years in my Shop and it gives you a nice, smooth, glossy finish - but - it is not very durable for the normal daily driver..

If you keep it garaged, wash it gently, keep it away from car washes, you can get Menzerna PowerLock to of course, last longer. It is very easy to apply and remove..

I personally like to use Sonax Polymer Net Shield now on everything that goes out of my Shop, because it also has a very nice, gloss and outstanding durability and water beading off the car..

You have access to great equipment, and products, so whatever way you choose to go, it sounds like you will be fine..

    Good luck with this !

Thanks. This forum always has good quality information. Also, I saw Todd posted a polish chart comparison which also helps. Thanks again.......

Thanks for the compliments, but the `Sonax Polymer Net Shield`. Isn`t this an aerosol can??? I would`ve have never figured something in a can would be good.
