    Brand new Black corvette...

Will be arriving soon, told my dealer to leave all plastic intact and do not wash!
I want to be the first to wash, polish and wax my new C7. Should I hand polish for the very first time, as opposed to Random orbital? Which least aggressive polish? I like P21S paintwork cleaner, what about Meg`s 205. All suggestions are appreciated!

    Welcome to AutopiaForums!

I would recommend machine jeweling, at least. Polish depends on the condition of the paint. Not always perfect out of the factory. M205 is an excellent finish polish.

My new car prep was outlined here: http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/...17-my-toy.html Not all of the steps are absolutely necessary but would consider them or equivalents.

    Congrats and welcome!

You can also look into something like Menzerna SF4000/SF4500 or many other offerings. But I would absolutely recommend as well using a machine over hand (except for tight areas such as on the hood scoop and other vents). Make sure to tape off well before beginning with some automotive or painter`s tape.

Unless something has changed, vettes have very hard paint. That said, it will be almost impossible to get an even finish by hand.

    So follow the above advice

congrats on the new vette... i agree with the above in you will need a machine to get it blinging. but i would use blackfire final polish and a white pad. just my .02

Honestly, let the condition of the car dictate your process. Treat it no different then any other car. Use the least abrasive method to polish out the factory defects, whether it be a finishing polish or something more. Then wax it and snap lots of pictures.

    Congrats on the new ride!
