Got some new waffle orange foam pads in yesterday

Well I have seen people ask about no name foam pads from China and people say they are crap if they were brought like on Ebay. Well I took the chance and ordered some 6" foam pads from website ( I wont post the name so I wont violate any forum rules if there are any to violate so I wont). I paid $7.00 including insurance with free shipping for 4 of this pads. I inspected only 2 pads and they were looking like nice quality pads with a nice firm feel.

Today I did a quick test between a 1 of the new pads vs a Griots orange flat pad which had 1 car detail under its belt and it was clean at the time.

Interior Temp of the shop was 61 deg`s.

I did a test panel on a red bmw trunk with the Griots orange 6" pad and did a 3 pass over test area and the temp was 73 degs.

Same test and pass method was done on with the new no name 6" orange waffle pad from china. The foam pad was easy to handle with no issues with correcting on the paint or ride smoothness (1st time using a waffle pad and I didnt know what to expect at all.) The temp after the quick test was 68 degs. I was impressed with the results gpt paying when you break it down to like $1.75 per pad. I will use these pads more and I will get a better opinion good or bad the more I use them and I will post the results. I should be able to make a video tommorrow since my camera was dead at the time.

I think the real test is long term durability. Keep us up to date on that.

If it lasts a long time and is good quality, you have found a really good way to save money.

you are correct...I will use 1 pad...make sure its always clean...check for cracks, foam drying up and breaking and velcro backing coming off.

Durability doesn`t worry me since I normally just use em once.

I`ve been scared to move from LC pads since I know the color/cut coding and the feel, final product.

Did the vendor have a chart as far as "aggressiveness"?
Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!
