Menzerna and Hex Logic - process check :)

Hello, having recently updated my detailing kit to the menzerna range and having read many many threads on menzerna I just wanted to do a quick sanity check with the experts before this weekends session!

These are the products I have....

    Menz Power Finish 2500 81326 = PO203S
    Menz SF4000 Super Finish 81328 = 106FA
    Menz Final Finish 81316 = PO85RD

and the pads I have bought are Hex logic Orange, Green, White and Black.

if I have read and understood everything correct ( I used to use meguiars 83, 80 a lot) I should do the following

    1) PO203S on the Orange pad (depending on swirls condition etc)
    2) 106FA on a Green Pad
    3) PO85RD on a white pad

Is that correct? is it really worth doing stage 2? I was thinking more of doing stage 1 and then going straight to stage 3 but maybe on the green pad?

also what sort of speeds should these be on a PC? 4?

    thanks as always

    Hi gcpeters,

    I would only pick 1 among 106FA and PO85RD.
They give similar results so no need to repeat them.
Btw, I will use that with a black pad.

    Welcome to AutopiaForums!

Depends on the paint. Really soft black may require 85rd. Most others, finishing with 106 is enough.

When I used my PCXP, I compounded on 5.5-6, polished on 5 and finish polished on 4-4.5. Exception was with MF pads - no more than 4.5.

Menzerna PO106FA has a little more cut than PO85RD and both finish down exactly the same, so if you think you need a little more refining to end up with the highest gloss number for the product, then 106FA could help.
And as has been said perfectly by Mjlinane, everything depends on the paint, and the condition of it.
I only use Rotary power to quickly get to my desired result, but have used PC`s in the past, and if I had to use one again, it would be wide open, to get as much rotation as possible, and if the pad diameter is in the 5" range this should also help you get quicker rotation but a smaller footprint, so yet, another trade-off..
    Good luck with this !

well just to update this thread in case anyone else is after the same information...

The TVR had very bad swirls and scratches, basically everywhere...

went through the various polishes and pads and found that the combination below had the best results, even 106FA on a green didn`t do the job!

    1) 203S on an orange pad, doing slow passes at around 5 - 5.5 on the PC
    2) 805RD on white, again slow passes from 3- 4 on the PC
    3) finished of with two costs of super natural hybrid

took a very long time to do, but the results were stunning. Even I was amazed that it took all the swirls out. Ill post some after pics when they come through

so thanks everyone for the tips!

    regards
