Lake Country Variable Contact (VC) Pads?

I came across a set of 6-inch Lake Country Variable Contact Pads (cutting, polishing, waxing) that I bought when I first started using a Porter Cable 7424. These were the recommended pads at the time. Over the years I pretty much switched over to 6.5 inch Meg`s pads.

Anyone still using these Variable Contact pads and do they have a place using a 7424 PC with the most up-to-date products?
2 white Tacomas and 2 black Harleys. I got half-way smart.

They still work the same as they always have and will work fine with new products. The movement has been towards flatter faced designs (both CCS and Flat).

VC pads rock with a rotary! Still one of my favorite pads. On a DA they really are not beneficial tho.

I`m going to try my VC pads on my Makita this weekend.
I was shown at PB detail weekend to use the outer flat edge just tilting a few degrees?
Does anyone lay the pad flat against the panel.
