    Backing Plate On Flex 3401

Here recently I have noticed that the pads are not sticking like they used to on my Flex 3401. I took the same pads that wasnt attaching to the 3401 and threw it on my PE14 and it was on there nice and secure. Do the backing plates get worn out and eventually need replaced every so often? I have had it for about 2 years and detail as a side job so it gets a good amount of use. Anybody else have this problem?

I`ve never had a problem. Does it look like the velcro material has melted? I`ve had my Flex since it was released

it definitely feels and looks different then the backing plate on the PE-14 does..i never thought i was getting the pads hot enough with it to generate those kind of temps to backing plate. i can tkae one finger to remove the pads with very little effort so it isnt real safe to use at this point

I`ve had mine get pretty hot but I haven`t seen it affect my backplate yet.

I`d get the backplate system. That will allow more flexibility for pad sizes

    Agreed.
