    The first thing I did was remove the handle. I prefer to cup my hand over the top. It increases the "feel".
    If you do this (recommended) you must replace the handle with a screw. I got mine from Ace hardware.

    If you do NOT put a screw and a washer in the hole the black cap cover will slide right off!!!
    It will slide right off the front. You will have a black cap in one hand & a machine in the other.
    Although this could be interesting and exciting while you are polishing...it is not a good thing.

    (Don`t ask me how I know)

    Even the GG 6" has the same requirement. It has a U shaped handle with a bolt on each side.
    I remove both bolts and discard the handle. Then I replace both screws into the machine head.

    thanks steve, gonna have to get me some of those. think i cooked the 7424xp though. starting my research for another as the pc is out of warranty.

    Get a Griot, lifetime warranty and more powerful than the PC.
