Clay Storage (or Don`t Store Sonax Clay Wet)

I went to use my grey Sonax clay today and it didn`t go as planned. I had a like-new piece, (from May 2021) that I stored in an old Griot`s clay jar. I stored it wet, with my regular Nanoskin clay lube. Not paying attention, I discovered it was disintegrating as I used it on the hood. Being smeary and streaky, it was a bit challenging to get off. I had to use my UWW as a QD and after 2 applications, it came off.

I then used a new piece of the same clay and it worked just fine. Live and learn.

I then put a coat of FK1000p on it and it`s now ready for winter.

I too used to store my clay wet, following the advice from Griot`s. Quit doing that when I quit using GG clay.

Older- Gee, you`re ready for winter already! I`ll resist the temptation to suggest you get a gazillion more coats of the FK on there over the next couple months... heh heh, yeah...I couldn`t resist that

One car done, one more to go. The S/P is the next one. I’ll get at least 2 more coats of FK1000p on it in the next 3-4 weeks.

    You`ll be all set then!

I wouldn`t go for more than 4 total...I`ve had it bite me in the form of pseudo-holograms. (Ketch insists it was User Error and I won`t argue...)

Seems like I remember that. I put two coats on in May and two more a few days ago. Ready for winter now.
