PC 7424 Rattling

Hey guys -- I just purchased a 7424 and recieved it yesterday. I assembled it and there seems to be a rattling noise coming from the unit. I tightened the pad/backing plate securely.

Is the rattling noise normal?

I haven`t used it on my car yet -- will the rattling go away once pressure is applied to the pad/backing plate?

ya the sound is normal and it is reduced when turned to a higher speed

Yes I am using the handle grip. Does this make a difference?

Yes it makes a big difference.once you apply to the panels as you apply your products it should help.

sometimes my PC sounds like a bunch of rocks in a tin can.

Yup, as others have already said, the rattling is quite normal. It`s usually the black piece of plastic above the pad that rattles. So, I took off the handle and just put my hand on the head of the polisher. I feel like I have more control this way plus no more rattling.

Mine rattles, and it`s coming from the black "hood" at the business end of the unit. It sits on the PC loosely, and rattles unless I put a hand on it. FWIW, I quit using the side handle some time ago.
