    Question Pc 7428

I have a PC 7428 (rotary) and I have a question about the speeds. When I polish I usually go between 1100 and 2000 and tend not to go much faster then that unless the finish is paticularly bad. The other day I washed my pads pushed most of the water out and then put them on the buffer and sped it up to dry them off alittle. (I got soaked doing that).

I believe the speed on the PC goes up to 6000 I got it up to 5000 and the thing was spinning so fast I thought I could cut a tree down with it. What reason if ever would you use those speeds?

You were right, its used to cut down trees at that speed. LOL. Just joking. I dont think there is a need to use any rotary at its max speed. I use the PC 7424 at its top speed, but I don`t think I`ve ever needed to top out a rotary.

The rotary polishers come from regular rotary grinders and such and probably use the same motors for both. This way PC and other companies don`t need to make 2 different motors. You never would need to go that high on paint, but working with metal and such it`s possible maybe???
