They`re pretty close, yeah. I think the LC might be just a touch more aggressive, though.Originally Posted by SNike05

That`s another good one...however, the captions are nearly impossible to read. What was the demo pointing out when you held the PC against the body for an extended period?Originally Posted by Shiny Lil Detlr

Yeah, another problem with compression that I couldn`t easily overcome. I wish there were a better way to have small file sizes without so much quality loss!Originally Posted by 2005Accord
The demo basically stated "As you can see, the PC is not damaging/burning the paint, even at its highest speed, when held in one place for an extended period."
When I originally created that video, it was for another forum where a member (a "professional detailer for a GM dealership" ) was insisting that ANY machine polisher, even the PC, could and WOULD burn the paint off any vehicle unless handled by a professional and kept in constant motion. I just couldn`t help myself proving the snot-nosed little brat wrong

YEAH! Show him up.. LOL i love proving people wrong haha...
Those both are 7336 models...I am about to order the 7424 from AutoGeek. Will the methods and motions still remain the same as in the vids? Or are the two models so different that there are other techniques to learn? I understand that the 7424 is better for newbs and has an addition motion to it. What is the motion pattern of the 7424?
Not sure where you read/heard that but thats not right. The only difference between the two is the counter weight. The 7424 has a 5 inch counter weight for 5 inch pads and the 7336 has a 6 inch counter weight for 6 inch pads. See link belowOriginally Posted by 2005Accord

There is no difference whatsoever between the 7335 (mine is a 7335, but actually it`s the re-labeled Meguiar`s G100A), 7336SP, and 7424. All three are pretty much identical machines with regard to technique and the orbital movement pattern. As stated above, the only notable difference is the counterweight -- and for the record I`ve used both a 5" and 6" counterweight on PCs with otherwise identical backing plate and pad setups, and the difference was nominal at best to me.Originally Posted by 2005Accord

I`ve been detailing for years and man just those two videos and your detailed descriptions have cleared so many things up for me.
I thank you so much for putting this site up. This is probably the most useful thing I have found on this forum.
I think I`m gonna try to do a rotary video later this week, too. I`ve got a NASTY project car in that will make for a beautiful "test subject" for before/after shots...

This thread is great. I am going to get a PC very shortly and have been worried about how to use one properly. The vids and advice in this thread are great. I also know two ppl that have offered to show me how to use a PC as well,.....so that will help too haha.
Hey, I just want to let everyone know that I`ve updated my website and added new Porter Cable videos.
