Yep
An update that may be of some help.
Patrick at Excel Detail was kind enough to supply me a link that has pad and product recommendations with the pads he is involved with listed.
Thanks Patrick.

Glad to clear the air guys.....
When it`s you car, every detail matters...........
I still get confused when people ask me questions without telling me the brand of pad and just a colorOriginally Posted by CharlesW
All they need to do is say what the pad is intended for. Cutting, polishing, finishing.Originally Posted by Poorboy

that`s exactly how I respond ...I just mention the use so they can figure out what color to useOriginally Posted by CharlesW
OK, we should be corrected now atleast with the Propel pads.
Let me know if there are any others that need to be changed, a reference to the manufacturers list would be the best source for the info.
Thanks,

what about 3M pads ? thats the only thing i can get locally (eggcrate pads)
Looking at 3M`s site I only see 2 different foam pads
A white compounding pad and a black polishing pad, are ther any other colors that you know of?
"J"
well ive seen only these 2 colors, what product should i use with these pads ? (going meguiars route)
What you are going to use will depend on the condition of your paint.
I would make more use of the polishing pad, because the compunding pad sounds like a heavy cut pad. I have never used any 3M pads so maybe someone who has used them would like to chime in.

Won`t the type of machine being used come into play here?
Sunstealth: Are you using a rotary or a random orbital polisher?
There`s different opinions on this, but I personally wouldn`t use a compounding/heavy cut pad with a RO.
Charles
That would really depend on the product being used with it and with a RO you would definitely need to be using top speedsOriginally Posted by CharlesW
it`s a rotary (a wen, i know it`s not the best but it fit`s my student finance)
I`m new around here and I just wanted to bump the thread and say thanks for all the work that went into this. I`ve got some Sonus Green, Orange and Blue pads in the garage from a couple of years ago and this is very helpful.
