Home Depot carries these for $25.

Some like buffers such as that. You`d have to pay me to use one as I just hate em. The terry bonnet type 9-11" buffers IMO just don`t do a very good job. The bonnet seems to move very little as there is too much give between it and the foam backing surface. Also the shear size of the buffer makes it hard to use on many vehicles. I also think they have a tendency to fill seams if you go over them. My experience with them over the years was what kept me from buying a PC years ago. I just figure the PC would be a more expensive piece of crap. I was wrong of course. One thing I think the bonnet buffers do good is if you wax a dark car and get shadow marks you can go over the surface and remove them easily.

jlells01, your best bet is to save your pennies and buy the Porter Cable. My recomendation ... keep your eyes open on e-bay here and autopia for people looking to get rid of a Porter Cable. I picked mine up for $45.00 with shipping. I cleaned it up and its as good as new.

The Porter Cable 7424 is a very very impressive tool! And trust me when I tell you.. "You will never detail another car by hand ever again!" Don`t get me wrong Your still going to have to work. But it will make even the occasional weekend hobbiest detailer look like a pro or close to.

Im sure just about everyone here on this forum will agree w/ the above!
