Thanks Chad, it has been a lot of fun shooting these. I only plan on getting better and doing higher quality videos in the future.

Thanks to Todd and Chris for their insights into the uses of Opti-Coat. I understands O-C is designed for application to headlights, bumpers, wheels, trim and most aluminum and chrome surfaces in addition to the painted body, but not for glass. Would you apply O-C to the surface of the ultrasonic sensors located in bumpers as parking alert aids? Thanks, Henry. PS. My 1st post on Autopia; I really enjoy this forum.

Thanks for the write up Todd. I`ve been a little nervous about using this, but will try it out on my own vehicles first.

Let us know how it works out for you. Hopefully this guide will provide some assistance.

Do you know if this is good for single stage paint jobs? My parents have his & her Maxi Taxis: The orange one is gel coat, but the dark maroon one is single-stage paint and my dad obsesses over wanting to `protect` the finish, but I`ve told him to hold off on waxing it and we might split a tube of opti-coat since it won`t take much to do both Taxis.

What is the difference between this product and the Opti-Glass? I purchased and used the OG just the other day. So far it works great. I`m spoiled by the factory glass coating on my other Lexus models.

Optimum doesn`t recommend applying Opti-Coat to the glass, specifically the windshield. I would guess for legal reasons because it is such a thick coating, I could see it altering your vision slightly.
After doing some research, it looks like users that have ignored Optimums warning are only getting about 6 months out of Opti Coat on the glass. Opti-Glass was specifically formulated to bond with glass (as opposed to paint) and users look to be getting 1 year of protection on the glass.

What happens if you put the TP&S, and Crystal Seal on top of it? For a car do you recommend the OC for the higher impact areas, like the bumper, mirrors, rockers, behind wheels and Blackfire products elsewhere?
Thanks

TP&S would not be recommended since it`s an abrasive. So it would begin to remove the OC. Crystal Seal wouldn`t bond to OC so you`d just be wasting product. A super durable coating like OC is perfect for high impact areas. If you want to be extra safe, apply a clear bra first then OC on top of it.
