Oddly enough Optimum has come out with their own suede cloth applicator similar to the CQuartz one, the OPT one even has a way to tuck in the suede so you don`t have to hold it. But there has been no announcement, promotion, etc. of this product (like most of the other new products introduced within the last year, even Gloss-Coat). You can find the Optimum applicator at the Opti-Coat.net store.

Good point. As far as I know Chris Thomas is still a sponsor here. It`s really unfortunate that he (as well as many other sponsors) aren`t taking advantage of this venue the way they could.

The even odder thing is I tried to get some info on these new products at the Optimum forum, and couldn`t get the company rep to provide any information as he was afraid that would be construed as "selling". Huh? Finally after a lot of prodding I got them to at least post the label information from the new products.

Wow. They are definitely going through some changes. Hard to get a handle on it.

I wonder why. I do not think they are at any disadvantage.

Not at all. If anything they stay to gain more than ever with the increased traffic of both Autopias. It`s been a battle that as kept people scratching their head all the way back since the DavidB days.

    Hi guys,
Have any of you tried spraying Gloss Coat yet with an airbrush? I have a new vehicle coming to my personal stable and am considering trying to spray rather than use the usual CarPro block plus microsuede that I have done historically.
Looking to get a somewhat thicker coating for durability purposes.
    Regards,
    Pete

I personally don`t spray them, but I know you can. With the changes in the formulation and with primer polish it really makes application super easy. And I use the blue foam OPT applicator too.

Same here. Gloss-Coat is incredibly easy. Why not just do two coats? As long as you apply the second one within an hour you should be good to go.

Historically, I have done two coats, both of original OC 2.0 and now of gloss coat. I was just attracted to the idea of potentially being able to lay down a thicker (and potentially longer-lasting) application of gloss coat without having to worry nearly as much about high spots.

In addition, the vehicle has a lot of vents/intakes that have mesh, to which application via spray would be more able to coat all the surfaces.

I don`t think that those of us who aren`t "pros" can get primer polish, or can we?

    Thanks for the input y`all!

    Re: Gloss Coat

I just had Hamza from GetDetailed put on the Opti Gloss Coat and he did a great job. Really pleased with how it came out. These pics are day 1, so I`m looking forward to the first rain to see this stuff in action.
10CC covered the car, door jams, and wheels with 1cc left over for the winter rims.

Hard interior plastics and wood trim should be fine with Gloss-Coat.

Anyone have a link to this applicator?
