I picked up the Collinite Insulator wax when I was there. I`ve used it on a friend`s truck, it left a great finish. but what I really am interested in is the durability that I`ve heard so much about. You are close by...just a jaunt down Rt. 20!! Talk to you later, and thanks for the suggestions!!

Yeah, I got the Vector machine from CMA. It`s a great machine. I also got the velcro backing plate and two foam pads, one white and one yellow. I am thinking about getting the yellow wool pad from the CAR store. I`m getting more confident with it everytime I use it. I haven`t tried any wet sanding yet though!!! LOL How about you, got rotary yet?

I`ve been using the polishes and light compounds from Chemical Guys. The ultra-light compund and medium compound and the banana butter wax. The wax I apply with the PC still...I`ve also used the 1Z polishes, the medium and light ones. Good results from all so far. I just did a detail on my truck today. I used the pre-wax polish from Wolfgang and followed that with the Collonite Insulator wax. The finish was very slick and very glossy. I`ll try to take some pics, but I`m working all weekend...Talk to you later.

I am brand new here but your mention of Car Products caught my eye. I was there Friday afternoon to investigate the best product to wax my newly painted truck. They rec Collinite, but I failed to ask if I need to seal the paint. It has a clear coat and and was painted only 4 weeks ago. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might apply before I wax it, or would this be unnecessary? As you can see, I am a confused, so any help will be appreciated.

Ps. They are nice folks there and I am going back once I can determine the above.

Since its only been 4 weeks i wouldnt wax it yet but if you get something body shop safe

such as megs #81 which is a pure polish you could use that till you wax

they should have #81 or something like it

might be a good idea to wait a few more weeks before you wax your paint
