I have a classic car which is still wearing it original paint. I have noticed some strange kind of what looks like scratches on both doors. Its not deep but almost looks like someone dragged a giant abrasive pad down the doors and lower front fender of the P/S. The car is meteor grey so its hard to see. but it is definitely there. I`m new to detailing but from reading some threads I think I need what is called paint restoration ? The rest of the paint and car is in good shape.

What is the process for getting this sorted out. I guess the detailer cleans the whole car then does this. How much is detailing and paint restoration. And can anyone recommend a shop in NYC / Brooklyn / LI area. Im on the lower east side of the city.

    Thanks
