I have a question about status. Under some members names they have different titles like "Enthusiast Detailer" or "Obsessed Detailer". How do I change what my title displays?

Thanks. Thats what I thought! But some members have things like"Mr. Anderson?" under their names and I wanted change my "Apprentice" to some thing else. I wondered if changing it was tied to your post count or how long you had been a member of the board.

Don`t worry it`s not a reflection of your time, ability or experience in detailing (I`ve been doing this for four decadeds and started out here as an `Apprentice" as we all did)
What gets overlooked too often is that one must be a student before becoming a teacher.

    Welcome!

I`m not sure if the ability to change the user text is limited based on time or postcount, but here is how it is done:

    1) Log in and choose "user cp" up on top.

    2) Choose "edit profile"

    3) Go to the section for "Custom User Text" and change as you wish

    Ema,

I can not find "Custom User Text" in my in my profile, all that I see is

"Edit Profile" with my email address

"Optional Information" with the following options:

    Homepage:

    ICQ Number:

    AOL Instant Messenger Handle:

    Yahoo Messenger Handle:

    Signature:

    Birthdate:

    "Additional Information" with the following

    Location:

    Interests:

I am not really sure where "Custom User Text" is or how to get to it. Is it possibly something that you have to do when you register?

It might be something that only shows up once you get 20 or 30 posts (whatever the limit is to change your status off of "Apprentice"). If so, as others have said, keep posting!

    Sullybob,

Perhaps the custom user text is a feature that is enabled after a certain amount of posts. Hopefully DavidB or one of the moderators will chime in.

EVIL pure EVIL Pretty darn funny!

I guess I will just have to keep reading and learning more, then try to find threads where I actually can contribute something useful.

Either that or I just try to pad my post count.

Off to try and post something constructive.

    Thanks for the reply`s.

Sorry I can`t answer your question directly, Sullybob. When I signed-on here, I posted so often that I moved pretty quickly from Apprentice > Enthusiast > Obsessed > Lunatic ... and now I`m burdened with my current "Moderator" title. So I haven`t done the customizing you`re asking about, but I`ve alerted the Moderator group about your question, and I`m sure somebody will chime in here soon.

And -- most importantly -- :welcome to Autopia. :bounce

You can`t change your tag line until you reach a specific amount of posts. 50 I believe.
