From the first day we started the Autopia forum, introductions and welcomes were a big part of the community. So, it only makes sense that we`d create a place for members to introduce themselves.

If you’re new, of if you have not posted, please introduce yourself and join the community.

I`m relatively new to posting, but have been reading for over a year. I actually registered in March `02, but my computer locked up during the registration, so it never completed. I had a screen name, but couldn`t access everything - something went wrong. :nixweiss

To make a long story short -I was away for the summer, came back this fall and emailed David - he took care of it right away. Thanks David.:xyxthumbs

I`m 24, we have a 2001 Speedway White Corvette Coupe covered in Zaino, and I`m hopelessly addicted to detailing. Thanks to you all for a great site, excellent information, and helping me feel like I`m not such a weirdo for washing my car all the time. It`s ungaraged

:scared so I have to wash it all the time. At least that`s how I justify it. People all walk by and I can hear the whispering - there`s the guy who always washes his car. Just yesterday in fact, some kids who thought they were out of hearing distance were saying - "That guy washes his car, all day, every day. That`s weird.":nono

Just so that this doesn`t become the longest thread in history, you don`t have to make your "howdy" post in this thread. Just start a new one so we can recognize you all individually. :xyxthumbs

Hi all just new to the board. OH DUH why else would I be introducing myself?

I am also very new, nearly untried, to the business.

I have just completed my second retirement. One being for 22 Military years service. In reality, the two retirements are combined for a total of just over 35 years. Anyway it is on to something else. And I hope this works out.

My name is Eric, Nickname “Frosty†for the silver hair and because I am in North Pole Alaska and enjoy the out doors except when it is 60 below.

My plan is basically an indoor had car wash with Detailing as the second fiddle. It is a Valet type service (we pick up and deliver the vehicles to businesses who want to keep up the image during the winter it is 18 miles to the nearest automated carwash, that being in Fairbanks, with the only competition being a coin operated spry wash thing that is closed 9 months of the year. I am currently working out of a small 35X40 foot shop with a dry well water recover system I am using astro-turf on the floor for a silt filter before it get to the drain to keep my well (sump) clear.

I am purposely keeping it small to avoid the EPA and their college wiz kids out of my hair.

Anyway, I am here for some hints on doing a good job while providing a little more than beer money so any help that can be offered It will be appreciated.

I was referred here from TCCOA and have been reading for the last few weeks. I have a Laser Red 97 Thunderbird and the Texas sun is starting to take its toll.

I am 37 years old and was raised by a Car Wash owning father. I learned how to detail the old non-clearcoat paints and now I have to learn a whole new way of doing things. Last Sunday I threw away all my old waxes and bought a bottle of Zymoil (sp?) and a clay bar and after 6 hours my paint has never looked and felt so good! My next move will be to buy some Zaino and really get to work. Thanks Autopia!!
