Hi,
My floor mats are pretty dirty. One of the mats has some sort of grease on it. What do you guys use to clean the carpets? These are black if it matters.

Try using Woolite, with a spritz of Simple Green on the soiled areas. Make sure you use a good brush and put some elbow grease into it.

I scrub with a brush and rinse. Then, while they are still wet I spray 303 all over them, and wipe them dry (or rinse gently, shake, and let them air dry). Future cleanings just involve a rinse of high pressure water and a shake and air dry..........
Try it!

not on CARPET floormats, you dont! on rubber ones yes, simple green and then 303 works great....... but carpet ones, use the woolite/simple green solution. HOT WATER!!!! :up
Best stuff I`ve found after many years of spiffyin` my rides inside and out is called `Tuff Stuff`. It has a brush adapter trough with the foam exits. It helps distribute the chemical foam in the nap.
Found it at Auto Zone. It is also great for carpet in the hse.:up
I used Tuff Stuff also for quite a while, until i found it`s replacement. Now, I`ve been using Lifter1 carpet cleaner/stain remover for a long time. It`s better than TuffStuff IMHO. Spray on, wipe with cotton rags and in minutes my carpet and mats look like brand new. Never thought about using my Simple Green, but it sounds like it`s worth a try sometime.

I use Prestone carpet cleaner. RoboDude put up a pretty good review of it in the Product Review forum. That stuff has taken out just about every stain I`ve tackled with it. Very good stuff for a foaming cleaner. :up :up
Mine are a heavy rubber so I use car wash soap with a soft brush.
I clean my mats about every other month with this 3M foam carpet cleaner. It does not leave them wet and easy and effective, just dislike the smell a little. Cleaning the mats frequently makes them easy to clean, Thinking about using the home carpet cleaner by Bissell.

I heard the son of a gun stuff is good but all I can find is the protectant, not the cleaner?
umm.......... are they the same thing?
I`ve used Resolve Carpet Cleaner (a powder) with great success. My wife`s Volvo was previously owned by someone with 2 kids and they loved to drop stuff on the floor.
The interior is beige and every stain really showed. I took out the mats, sprinkled the powder on and then scrubbed with the included brush. I was amazed that the stains came out very quickly and I did not have to use a lot of effort.
I vacuumed the remainder of the powder and voila!! very clean carpet mats. Frankly, they looked almost new.
You should be able to find Resolve at any supermarket.
1/Vacuum
2/Pressure washer rinse
3/Spray any all pupose cleaner/degreaser mixed to the correct dilution for general cleaning
4/Brush with carpet brush
5/Pressure washer rinse
6/Wet/ Dry vacuum
7/Air dry remaining dampness
Perfect every time!
I am going to see if I can save my floor mats, I want to keep my car all OEM if I can, even down to the floor mats. I could buy new ones but jeeper creepers, they`re wicked expensive for just mats.
