    I Can`t Get No Satisfaction
Good Call on Jumpin Jack Flash and Start Me Up

I agree on the AC/DC. Nice little Stoplight Grand Prix Song.
But we both have to agree on the most humorous AC/DC song (Big Balls).

Yeah Bon Scott was cool, so much double entendre in that song it should have been written for a "Carry On" film. But you can`t beat sitting outside on a summer evening with a glass of Jack Daniels listening to his best recording, "Ride On".

I listened to or owned a lot of that during my college days when I was on the radio. I had a R&B/Dance show at my College`s Radio Station and I had a ball being on air. The most hilarious story from that was when I had a bet going with one of my Co-Workers about the Bears. The stakes were that if he won the bet, I would play his format (rock) on my show and if I won, he would play my format on his show. I won the bet.

I might have to rent that. I recall the song was in "Dead Presidents" as well.

I remember a DJ at a local club that actually mixed the following and it was suh-weet.

    Wreckx Shop
    The Big Payback
That`s The Way Love Goes - Janet Jackson

I was mad because I didn`t have a tape so I could have gotten it.

Think of this as a light primer to House Music in Chicago.

    Deep House:

In a nutshell, it`s more mellow than the other forms of House Music. A lot of Deep House is the old disco tracks from the mid-late 70`s and early 80`s. Examples from my list include:

    Spring Affair - Donna Summer

Vertigo/Relight My Fire - Dan Hartman

    I Need You - Sylvester

    "Old School" House

(YoSteve could back me on this one). Old School House is Technically considered House Music that was released between 1986-1988. But I tend to include the stuff from `83-`85

The lyrics can be repetitious and sometimes sampled, but the beats are good.

    Examples:

Mix Your Own Stars - 117 (Actually released in 1985, but if played at a party, it will pack a dance floor)

No UFOs - Model 500 (You might have heard this one in a commercial for the Ford Focus)

    "Hip House"

Debuted in 1988 (even though there were some earlier examples). Technically, it was the fusion between Rap and House.

    Examples:

Pump Up The Jam - Technotronic

    Get Up - Technotronic

    Get Busy - Mr. Lee

    Ghetto House

I can`t tell you when it debuted but I can tell you that it is an offshoot of House. It`s often referred to as "booty music." I tend to refer to it as Chicago`s version of Miami Bass. The prevailing theme is sexual innuendo and the language reflects it. But the thing with Ghetto is it has a fast-paced, driving beat. In some ways, it can remind you of Progressive House or Techno.

    Example:

Watch It - Robert Armani (It`s instrumental)

With this in mind, don`t be surprised when I start adding more and more house to the list.

Okay, just curious: how many of you listened to some of your listed songs on an 8-track? I saw one of those the other day, interesting contraption.
