    Hello from Chicagoland

    I am realitivly new here.

I used to not give all that much care to car care other than mechanical maintenance. I would only take my car through a touch car wash every few months and the interior a few times a year.

A little over a year ago, I bought a pristine example of a tastefully modified 2008 Audi A4 (b7). I knew I had to start doing better at car care. I walked into a Walmart and stocked up on stuff. Doing research every now and then online. I was starting to enjoy the process and learning about new products and techniques. Slowly stepping up my process and upgrading tools and products.

I started collecting stuff for a compound and polish. Which lead to wanting a ceramic coating. Prior to doing it there was a car fire adjacent to where I park in a under ground garage. Which lead to damage from wet insulation scratching my paint.

I had the skills to get rid of the smell inside and the soot on the outside. I eventually corrected and polished the damage and ceramic coated it.

About 2 months ago my A4 was hit and totalled. I was able to then buy my dream car, a B8 manual Audi S4 (2012). I have been maintaining the finish with regular car washes and optimum spray wax, until I have a day or two free to wash, decontaminate, and seal/wax (power lock plus/845) it. Hopefully in the spring I can take a weekend and compound/polish it and ceramic coat it.

Dirty girl in for a wash:

I am lucky enough to be able to store my detailing stuff and wash my car in the truck dock at work.
