    Greetings From PA.

I am new to the site but have been detailing for 15 years now. I own a full service detail shop as well as a small mobile unit (mostly for my dealership clients). I take pride in a doing a great detail. I am in the Wernersville (Near the Reading Area) of PA. I have had my mobile unit for about 2 years and my shop for a year now. Even with the back and fourth weather I have held my own with private details and still knock down about 10 to 15 per week by myself. During peak I average 20 to 30 full details weekly from private clients and dealers.

I was presented a chance to go it on my own and I took it because I was tired of making others the money I could make myself. DON`T get me wrong. Starting a business is not an easy task and making AND keeping it successful is usually more difficult than one might think but good work and word of mouth travels fast (Good and bad). I would advise anybody looking to start their own company to first and foremost know what you are doing (There is nothing less professional than a can of wax and bottle of dressing working out of your trunk and yes I`ve seen it more than once), keep in front of your customers, price fairly, be insured, be ready for set backs and have a positive attitude!

I thank you all and look forward to networking and learning even more because even after 15 years this old dog can learn new tricks.

Hey Joe, I see you are just down the road from me. I have a shop in Lebanon and have quite a few clients up your way also, however I do not do any dealer work anymore as my core work is correction and coating work. I really don`t get on the forums too much anymore but occasionally will get on and check them out.
