    Newbie from Colorado

    Hello all,

Colorado native checking in. Since the day I have been able to drive (and even before then), I have always been a car detail enthusiast. Washing and cleaning once a week or more. Not a single person gets in my vehicles without commenting on how clean it is. Although, I am your typical DIY right now, I have dreams of one day running a detail business and window tint shop even if it is just a side business. I have really been trying a ton of new products recently due to the purchase of my brand new truck (Black 2015 Silverado 1500). I have learned very quickly how hard it is to keep black paint clean; which brings me to what brought me here initially; waterless washing.

I have been researching all weekend different waterless washing/waxing products and have it narrowed down to a handful of products. I could be wrong but I do not believe these products will ever be a full replacement for an actual car wash but if they can service in between them, I will be happy. I finally was able to wax my truck (Meguiars NXT 2.0) and I am somewhat pleased with it. I am still learning about products and until I found this forum, I am amazed about all the products you do not see in the store and what they have to offer. Anysways, I plan on making a separate post about waterless washing and hopefully some of you guys can chime in and point in the right direction. Glad to be apart of the forum and look forward to sharing my little knowledge. Here is a picture after the wax and detail.

    Welcome!

I rinseless wash more often than traditional. Use waterless mainly for jambs.

Exactly right. WW`s are only safe to use relative to how dirty your vehicle is. Here`s a handy chart to help determine the correct wash solution:

I am in the same boat man, so I feel yeah. I am rarely in the field any more but hopefully it picks up for us.

I might be over thinking this but I am still trying to differentiate the difference between rinseless and waterless washes as they are both foreign to me. Risneless being a soaked MF cloth and waterless being more of a spray and wipe?

Thanks for that! Currently My truck is currently between instant detail and waterless. The instant detail I have from meguiars leaves a lot to be desired IMO. I waxed it about 2-3 weeks ago and it seems to be attracting more dust. I don`t know if it caused from the NXT 2.0 wax or that is just how it is with most waxes. I don`t feel to comfortable buying a duster like a California car duster since it is black. The wax also was not what I thought it would be either. I am still new to waxing but I was expecting more a wet look, deep gloss. It has shine but looks `dry` if that makes sense.

    Re: Newbie from Colorado

I haven`t tried it yet but after reading Marc`s review I`d recommend Meguiars D115 Rinsefree Express Wash and Wax.

Check out his full review here: http://www.autopia.org/forums/detail...-wash-wax.html

It`s recommended over the product I`d recommend (UWW+)

    Good luck and Happy detailing!

Me neither, I guess some people (aka non-Autopians) like them?

    Re: Newbie from Colorado

Correct me if I`m wrong but I think it has to do with dilution ratios for each
