    CA girl that loves cars

Hi All, Car enthusiast and loyal Mercedes & Audi owner. I just started reviewing cars via youtube & recently posted a video commentary on waterless car wash products.

Someone suggested that I explore Autopia`s forums for feedback/ideas.

Anyways, I posted my link-- hoping to get insight on how other Californians keep car clean during our state drought. If you have advice, please share

Here you go. Use a couple gallons of distilled water in the bucket. 99 cents at grocery store. I like meguiars rinse free express wash (D114), but there are many good rinseless products out there. This method will keep the water Nazi`s and Gov. Moonbeam off your case.

Just remember not to set your microfiber towels on the ground like in your video.

Cut the problem off at the pass...

Correct the paint, then use a semi permanent coating. That wil stop most surfactants from bonding an make Waterless wash far easier. How do I know, the S7 gets wiped down daily, it comes off far easier then the c300 which doesn`t have a coating.

Also, a quality atomizer will help get the most out of the little water/mix you can use. Your sprayers are just as important as the product.

Go Rinseless...Infinite Use Detail Juice is the best Rinseless from my experience. And ALWAYS use the Garry Dean Wash Method.

Re: CA girl that loves cars

    Welcome!

I initially tried Optimum No Rinse, but did not like the results. Being in Southern Ca myself, I have been victim of the evil snare from neighbors when I even try to do a quick spray down on my truck. For a while I would quick detail when I could. Most of the time it`s too hot during the day (no garage) and by the time it`d be cool enough, I`d be at work starting my 6-2am shift.

My truck ended up going unwashed/cleaned for 6+ months- of which I`m now heavily paying for via suffering paint. I ended up caving in an using a near by self car wash- not 100% sure but I believe the place recycles their water.

Rinseless washes have my interest- but I`m worried it will be like ONR. It just wouldn`t get it as clean as I`d like.

Hope you find a worthy solution, I`ll keep my eye on this thread. CA is a bad place to have a shiny car these last few years.
