I was were you are in 2008. If you really want to jump start your learning look to attend a detail weekend somewhere. Poorboys was near me and I went.
We finally enjoyed nearly 80F weather this weekend. Now I know how a new mother feels when they cry for joy.
I`m in Anderson so a bit too far to help you out. lots of things you can learn on here, but with only wanting to do your personal vehicles, I would say keep it simple and buy just the things you will need like a good APC, machine for polishing along with a few pads, a single compound, polish, and wax, tire dressing. its very easy to go overboard on here and buy things you WANT rather than things you NEED. stick to what works easily and is user friendly, like Meguiars products. maybe some M105 compound, a little M205 polish, and some of their wax or M21 sealant. probably would make the most sense just to buy a kit with the polisher, pads, and chemicals all in one and save some cash that way.
