    Howdy All,

    It`s been a long time since I was active here, probably close to 4 years. Have had illness, surgery, etc. Now getting back active again and would like to get an update on the status of several detailing products.

    My favourites 4 years ago were basically the Zaino products ranging from the carwash through the leather dressing and qd`s. I was a "Zaino Zealot!!" Has anyone topped the current Zaino line with better and more durable sealants, etc? I`ve got to restock my garage with everything from car wash to interior products. Some suggestions for any products which are newer and better would be appreciated. I still have my PC random orbital polisher.

    Thanks,

    HRP

    Welcome back!

    There are more good choices now that ever before regarding long lasting polymers and hybrid sealants. Zaino is still a popular choice. As always, you`ll get plenty of supporters of differing brands and it`s worth your research time to check them out so see what fits your needs best. The fun begins...again!

    Probably the greatest impact has come from the use of coatings, which have completely changed the landscape of the detailing industry. Products like Zaino, Collinite, and etc used to be the best protection available but nanotechnology (AQuartz) or a reactive polymer resin coatings (Opti-Coatâ„¢ ) that offer a coating thickness of 2-3 µ (microns) and a scratch resistant hardness of 9H, greatly extended durability, scratch resistance and protection from the elements that can be measured in seasons or years, as opposed to others

    For many years (twenty plus) my polymer sealant of choice was an acrylic polymer (Klasse) I then converted to a polymer sealant (Zaino) and used it for approx fifteen years, but automotive sealants and coatings(Opti-Coatâ„¢, Aquartz, Permanon, G|Techniq) have evolved immensely over the last five years or so and have changed paint protection to an inordinate degree
    What gets overlooked too often is that one must be a student before becoming a teacher.

    Thanks for the replies.

    Question: can you apply AQuartz) or a reactive polymer resin coatings (Opti-Coat over a Zaino treated car and is it worth the effort?

    thanks,

    No, and yes!

    Coatings need a squeaky clean surface to properly bond to the paint.

    All hail Zaino!!!!:::

    You can`t go wrong with their stuff. There`s a reason why Sal hasn`t updated anything in such a long time. There just isn`t a need.
