Good Morning from central Illinois

I`ve been looking around on here for the last few weeks, so I figured it was time to do the formal introductions.



1. How did you wind up at Autopia?

People on several other forums reference Autopia on occasion.



2. What do you like most about detailing?

Getting so involved with the "details" of the detail that it takes your mind off of the real world.



3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?

Hmm... I haven`t really been around long enough to develop any true favorites yet.



4. What`s your dream car and why?

Two-tone F250



5. What`s the best thing you learned on Autopia?

Ask questions? haha



6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?

Used to play lots and lots of baseball. Got hurt my Freshman year of college and never really got back to where I was before the injury. I fish as much as possible.



7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.

I have a 14 year old Siberian Husky named Sammy (after Sammy Hagar). I`m only 21, so she`s been around about as long as I have. She isn`t doing to well, but she`s still doing well enough to enjoy being with us.



8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.

I only really have one and it`s not much of a secret... When working in a smaller garage or tight workplace, use two hoses. I absolutely hate tripping over a hose hauling it back around the car and I`ve put several scratches in cars trying to move it around the front of the car. I run one hose under the car to use on the passenger side and then I bought a 15 foot hose to keep on the driver side.



9. Where are you from and where do you live now?

I`m from central Illinois, and I still live in Central Illinois.



10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?

First truck was a 2000 Dodge Dakota. I used to race quarter midgets, which are go karts with a role cage, and ALWAYS kept them clean. I may have been the only kid out there that waxed his car. I started racing in... 1st grade?



11. What motivates you to detail?

Pride and protecting my investment.



12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?

I would pay someone to teach me how to use a rotary and let them use my truck as practice if that counts.



13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?

My dad cleans his truck, my mom`s car, and my brother`s car every Sunday morning.



14. What is your favorite part about detailing?

Pulling into a gas station and having someone ask me who "did" my truck.



15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?

I would love to detail for a living.
