Been at this for 3 years, but new here...

Just wanted to take a few lines to introduce myself. Middle-aged guy that got into refinishing through car club affiliation (BMW) and got hooked on bringing out the best shine on my cars. Then friends began to ask if I`d do the same for their cars. I`ve been restoring like-new gloss to cars all over the US and supplementing my income. I have most recently moved to Santa Cruz, CA and building a client base in the Bay Area. My 20 year-old, twin sons operate the business in Dallas and they have becomed hooked on the entrepreneurial aspects of the business (which is what I was looking to do when I got them involved, hehehehe) I am a corporate refugee who is not real enthused about getting back into the rat-race-corporate-thing and am seriously considering taking a slightly different slant ont his business by carving out a niche. I`m working on a website and will post when the TradeMark issues move along a bit.

I`m going to try and figure out how to post a couple of pics to establish my credentials. Hope I don`t run afoul of forum rules. If so, I`ll apologize in advance for the shameless plug in my images.

Looking forward to hanging out, learning, and laughing.

    Thanks

    Dave

    Fantastic "Before`s" and "After`s"...

I detail part time myself and might jump in full time if the small company I work for folds (which is a distinct possibility). And, I am weary of the air travel in the last 3 years...

I`ve gotten a decent reputation from a Porsche club member and might check some of the other clubs in the KC area.

Great idea on those pics...they convey a lot of words.

    See Ya

Welcome to DC. From the looks of those pictures you have got it down pretty good. So I hope some like myself can learn a lot from you. I look foward to you posting some of your methods and the products that work best!
All things can be explained, it`s just that some things are harder to explain than others.

    Nice transformations in the pictures.
I still don`t believe in grit guards.
