So I know that us autopians don`t always just spend our time detailing cars. I was always curious what jobs some of us here have to support our addiction. I myself bartend at a banquet hall for weddings and events, help cater events for the same company, and also work in a cafe they run in the local library. The library job is definately the most boring, however I sit on my laptop and work on my online class and search autopia Looking forward to hearing what everyone else does for a living. :xyxthumbs

Anyone have a reputable detailer in Chicagoland that can swirls out of a black car.

I just got my hood painted from an accident and I can`t confirm if the swirls were caused by the body shop or the carwash guys.

As far as free time goes. If and when I get any I have all kinds of house projects to do.

Tonight we`re working on finishing off my laundry room.

    Next week we`ll tile it.

Weekend after I`ll trim it out.

Following week I`m redoing the seats in my Miata in leather and adding a heated seat system.

I think the week after that I have some real free time, unless it gets warm... then ..... :buffing:

Before moving to Texas I had a wood working area in the garage where I made boxes. Nothing fancy but the more that i made the better they became. Unfortunately it has been a few winter since I was able to do that. Tools are still in Alaska.

My fulltime job is quite consuming. I`m the Operations Manager for a major Home Improvement Retailer. When it comes to my "extra time".........I spend some of it detailing my 2005 Black Tacoma. Detailing has been one of my passions for some 20+ years. Infact, back in the mid 80`s it supplemented my income while I attended the Berklee School of Music for about 3 years. I find detailing quite relaxing. It helps me reduce my stress levels. ( that`s right....."levels" lol ) I also spend some time online here at Autopia daily. I really enjoy this site. Working 12-14 hours a day/ 6 days a week doesn`t really allow for "extra time" or "free time". I wish I had something more exciting to tell eveyone. (lol) :faint:

I work full time as a lead tech. for a desktop support group.

My girlfriend and I like to take "Sunday drives" by searching out for roads we`ve never been down before. We`ve been as far as 3-4 hours away and decide... aahhh I guess we`ll head toward home which ever direction that would be. Yea we take a map just incase

I plan on using some of my weekends to detail. I`m certainly not out looking for much $$. I get a big satisfaction stepping back and looking at a job well done and making others happy about their vehicle.

    good thread!

I absolutly love doing anything that has to do with speakers/radios. I have messed with the stereo so much in my car it isnt funny. I also like to do the "sunday drive thing" with the girl, but we only go about 1hr away. I also like to target practice with the bow thats always fun.
