just picked up a four place snowmobile trailer and decided i`d like to get it to shine.

I have a PC and most of the Poorboys line.

the paint on the trailer is black and is faded, so i took the pc to it with some ex-p, cleaned up pretty good, not like a mirror, but good.

I have a few problem spots. the trailer hinges are rusted and have streaked pretty bad. what can i use to clean these up?

also, any recommendations for getting her to look like a mirror? or cleaning up the aluminum better? or the stone guard?

    a few pics.

I tried a few different spots today. SSR2.5, 1 and EX-P even some polish with carnuba.

One thing that I wasnt happy about. I tried some quick detailer, and it fogged the black up just like i hadn`t done a thing to it...not sure about that...

    a few pics.

    Early in the day...polish u after 2.5 and ex-p.

a little later at night. see some pad streaks? couldnt get rid of them...

pic of the diamond plate tried some metal polish...didnt do much.

the side i haven`t done. you can see what i am dealing with here.

pic of the rust streaking i am talking about. cleaned up some, like 2 feet down the door, but i`d like to take care of it all...

Polishing aluminum to a perfect mirror is an artform, and imho, a waste of time because of the amount of effort needed to get it there, then maintain it.

But if you want to learn how to polish it up, you can read here, covers it in great detail

    Using the Cyclo Polisher

Althoug a rotary/da/etc.... can be used to polish, I`ve found the best luck with a cyclo and fleecewraps (see above) - anything else polish tends to clump and get all sorts of weird problems, like the streaks you mentioned.

I`d use Klasse AIO and just do a quickie on it. I know my sled trailer takes a beating from all the road salt and it looks like hell after a week anyways.
