7 years ago, my friend had the older version of todays rsv1000. with the "only" difference that it was an "R factory" equipped with magnesium ultralight wheels, carbon fiber instead of plastics and a few more HP.

long story short, some idiot stole it during a road trip.

finally, after so many time, he managed to save enough to buy a new one. this one isnt the R factory, but its still a bit more powerfull than the previous model. KN air filter, open exhausts, shorter final gear, steer suspension, remapped ecu.

the bike has been driven for only 13k km and washed only twice.

i dont have any pic of it when it came for me to detail it except the before/after one, but this is how it came out after the treatment.

compounding, polishing, buffing, all with 3m series. all done by hand cause of a lot of stickers on it, so i was a bit afraid to damage them. sealed with sonax 45% carnauba and over it a quick spray wax from 3m.

    before/after shot:

    final shots in the sunlight:

the satisfaction of the customer and the turning of heads of the people walking by were the best i got so far. they were all amazed how shiny and perfect this bike is.

    :high5:

i found out that its pretty hard to clean chain lube from everything. so i tried this:

INDUSTRIAL CLEANERS - Wurth Industry Cleaner 500ml - Tarcisio Caruana Ltd

    and it worked perfectly!!!

also used this industrial cleaner for heavily dirty places like the lower side of the bike and the front piece housing the radiator (just behind the wheel). i ordered a package of it cause i found a new favourite product for engine bay cleaning. :surprised:

also i figured i should take more pics during the work...

    hope you like it

Great bike, looks super clean. If not for the stickers, do you think you would have been OK using a machine on the paint? I`m kind of curious as to how soft motorcycle paints are.

if it wasnt for the stickers, yes. definitely.

not very much different from any other car paint, except for the red on the lower part. that one seems a bit softer, but the black/grey on the rest is pretty much the same as i always do on the cars.

Awesome bike. The polishing really added a lot of pop.
