Ok...this is my first post and I sure hope you guys can help. I drove up from California to Washington with my Triumph speed triple in the back of my truck covered with a tarp. If I would have known that the tarp would scratch the hell out of the bike I would have left it uncovered. There are little spots where the CC is dull all over the bike....it kinda looks like a leopard print pattern. I tried to polish it out but it only made it worse....please help.

Hello, and welcome aboard! Does it appear that these regions appear to be cloudy? Under the clear coat?

Cloudy...yes, I can`t tell if its under the clear coat or not. I would assume that it is on top since it came from the tarp rubbing on the bike in the wind.

it is possible that the tarp has worn through the clear coat during the drive ( i now not what you want to hear), you could stop by a body shop or good detailer and have them take a look at it to see what options you have. as for transporting things if not enclosed in a box or trailer you should not cover them.

It is also possible there was moisture under the tarp; I`ve seen this cause stains before. I actually had a little bit of a mystery this summer working on a car with similar damage. In the end we compounded them out, but the trick was not to seal or wax the car afterwards for ~4 weeks, almost like curing paint.
