Anyone ever polish a plane before? Did a guys Yukon Denial and now hes asking me if I can do his KingAir 350

I did an airplane a few months ago. The ONLY mobile job we`ve ever done. It`s way more work than you think it will be. Charge accordingly.

Yea thats what Im looking at one wing top and bottom would be almost like a whole car

Hey, Im an aircraft maintenance engineer in Canada, the company I work for maintains four Kingair 350s for BC ambulance.



The forward exhausting engines are a nightmare for paint, the inboard wing on the left side, and outboard wing on the right side will be an absolute nightmare.



Aircraft paint will not gloss up like car paint will, it`s usually a very hard single stage, though our wing lockers and nacelles are a red base/clear.



I use Meg`s M83 (by the gallon) and Rejex with a rotary air polisher.

It`s a frustrating job, youre more just deep-cleaning the paint rather than polishing it. The stupid engine design will have it all stained and disgusting next time it gets flown anyways.

This is C-FRLD, our priority plane in Kelowna, and one that I`m polishing almost every night in an attempt to keep clean.



Notice the staining on the right wing just ourboard of the engine nacelle? Thats what youll be battleing.

PS: Charge by the hour, these are relatively small aircraft but it`s still a MASSIVE undertaking for one person. There are products designed for aircraft, one being Rejex, another being Aerogloss, but most people just use Megs because it`s cheaper.



Aircraft Spruce carries a lot of aircraft specific stuff.

Cool thanks for all the info, all the windows are plexiglass material so plexus should work on them?

the pilot and co-pilot windshield are laminated glass, everything else is acrylic, so Plexus will work well on them.

I`ve never done a plane before but this product might be handy for it`s anti-fog properties.
