Hello all, I just joined up on here, I`ve been detailing cars since I was about 16 years old, and have done everything from brand new, off the showroom floor mustangs, to 20 year old Mazdas. However, I`ve never been asked to detail a boat, and I`ve never really looked it up either. I don`t have too much of a clue as to what products to use, but people have told me I can use the same old products I use on cars, so my question to autopia is as follows; should I detail a boat (just the hull) the same way I would detail a car? The actual inside of the boat I`m not too worried about, as I can clean that with simple household stuff, thanks in advance!

when i was working at a body shop the owner wanted me to buff his boat out and i just used the same 3M products we used at the shop for the cars. just make sure you use pads that you are not gonna use on cars again. when i did his boat i had pieces of fiberglass in my pads. thankfully he bought me new pads
