I just bought a 4 year old fifth wheel camper and wanna get it back shining.

Apparently it`s technically filon fiberglass and not really gelcoat.

What is a good (preferably one step) product to use to get it looking food again? I plan on using a PC 7424 polisher for it.

I`ve attached a picture to show you the camper.

    Thanks in advance.

A good one-step cleaner/wax should tackle that no problem, you should consider buying a gallon as that`s a lot of real-estate to cover.

Do a quick and simple test using some ColorX by Meguiar`s. Apply to just a small section, work in well, let dry and then wipe off and inspect. If it looks more clear with good gloss then you`re lucky and probably just about any quality cleaner/wax will work.

If you run into any problems like hard application and wipe-off and it doesn`t look good after you remove the residue then probably nothing will work.

    ColorX is fairly Bubba-Proof.

Look at the Collinite line. It`s what I use one RV`s and campers.

Duragloss #501 has great cleaning power with protection since you were asking about a one step. Jason(MotorCity) uses it on chrome trim also.

I have a 7 year old RV with the filon fiberglass. I use Meg`s A12 cleaner/wax twice a year with a DA and a polishing pad. Still shines and beads water after all these years.

Grab a six pack and take your time.

First you need a good cleaning. Then (now remember that fiberglass is cloth impregnated with a polyester resin = PLASTIC) use 303 Aerospace Protectant!

Spray on, swipe with a paint brush and let set for awhile (but not long enough to dry out), then go over with a dry MF towel OR your PC. Periodically, just spray and wipe with 303!

The beauty of 303 is not only does it maintain/restore the luster or sheen, but you can`t get better UV protection.

Just how good is 303 on gel coat?

I have looked into this product more than a few times but could never quite figure out if it was a sealant, wax, or something else.

It acts like a sealant and UV protectant. Treatment is different if the surface is faded (spray on and spread to soak - I`ve also read of using a pc to work in) otherwise spray on and wipe off.

Garry`s will do the trick on that. I`ve used it many times on RV`s. It`s a great one-step wax that will clean, shine, and protect.
