I have a Harley Davidson to detail later this week. I have only detailed 2 bikes (dread them) ever, and they were years ago. I have defiantly stepped up my game since then and was looking for new metal polishes, especially for this Harley`s Chrome. It is a 2008 HD Street Glide (FLHX), so the chrome is in good shape. It has some water spots on it, but I want it to really bling.

I have been eying up new metal polishes and reading tons of stuff on here. I have heard great things about Adam`s Metal polish 1&2 (read they reformulated to a single polish). Also as far as bike shop OTC products, I can locally buy; Simichrome, Flitz, Wenol (both) and Blue Job. The other OTC polish I am considering is Meguiar`s NXT Polysh.

Currently I have Nevr Dull wadding polish and Mothers Chrome. The chrome on this bike is in pretty good shape, so I know I need something that isn`t super aggressive. Personally I have never liked the Mothers Chrome polish..

So I am asking you seasoned Bike Detailers.. What Chrome (or uncoated metal) polish you prefer? My problem is I have too big of a selection to buy from...

    -Simichrome

    -Wenol

    -Flitz

    -Blue Job

    -Nevr Dull

    -NXT Polysh

    -Adams Metal

    or other.

I`d recommend flitz but I`ve even had luck with the mothers metal polish. Given the bike is an 08, the polishing shouldn`t take too long. I like the polish with the metal polish and a terry cloth, remove with an MF, then use ZAIO to finish up.

I just picked up some of the new Optimum Metal Polish. I love this stuff. Goes on very easy like a cream leaves a great shine.

I like to use Yacht Brite`s Buff Magic which has a jewelers rouge in it that acts as a metal polish. Beyond that I use the Yacht Brite Serious Shine. Keeps all of the metal, plastic, and finish shining.
