    Hey all,

I am about to go on a consultation for a 1981 Honda CB650 Motorcycle. This will be my first `legit bike`. i`ve done a couple crotch rockets, but those dont compare.

What should I expect? The guy said it was in pretty good shape, since its barley driven, but we`ve all heard that before?

What issues do you all run into? Any product recommendations? I pretty much work on strictly cars, but i cant turn it down.

Any help, or tips, or trick would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It is an older standard which is going to be similar to a cruiser to work on, lots of chrome and small areas to get into.

BikePics is a great site where you can find images for about every make and model motorcycle known to man

Just remember to clean the tires but do NOT put dressing on them. If you use a dressing on the seat, make sure it is one that does NOT leave the seat slippery

Avoid harsh detergents like Simple Green, better to stick with milder detergents like Orange Blast, Purple Power and let them sit a bit longer...

You`ll want some small 4" pads for sure to polish with. You`ll want a polish that cane be used on chrome and you`ll need something to get into all the nooks and crevices. They are pretty simple bikes. Not much to them really.

rjstaaf: I have Megs APC...which im in love with, that will work fine right? I heard about tIe dressing on the tires...ill be sure to remember that.

Danase: i have plenty of 4" pads, so im good there. My main concern is the amount of rust specs or what not.

    Thanks again guys!
