Treated myself to a Christmas present and picked up a low mileage `82 Suzuki Katana 1000. Only 5,400 miles on the clock. Needs a little basic maintenance and a lot of detailing, but quite clean and nice. The biggest issue is the black two-tone on the bottom of the tank and front fairing which isn`t factory. I think I can carefully wet sand it off the tank since it`s over the factory clear coat. The fairing has been repainted at some point and needs to be redone.
Chilling with my `85 750 Katana:
Love those yin-yang gauges:
Good of a place to start posting as any. :2thumbs:
This is mine. 2008 Yamaha FJR1300. It`s bone stock other than a Garmin GPS.

That motor you got is handsome. I remember my BMW way back home in Hongkong
Might be the wrong place to ask but a couple of questions for you guys...
How comfortable are these sport bikes? I might get one this summer to replace my daily driver.
What are some good ways to learn to ride if a friend with a bike isnt available?
And lastly I was looking at a ninja 250r for my first bike, looks good and seems like a nice starter bike, also the price tag is awsome.

Check out the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, they are the primary agency that coordinates training around the country. You can find the nearest location where you can take a course at the website.

I know a LOT of people think about getting into riding with the idea that they can save a ton of money riding a bike rather than driving a car. That is not always the case. Make sure you take ALL the hidden costs into account such as maintenance, riding gear, insurance etc...
Yes, the Ninja 250r would be a GREAT starter bike!
