Fairfax county and washing cars on a driveway... ?

    Hi

I just moved from Belgium to the US (VA, Fairfax County, McLean) and I`m going to reactivate here (on small scale!) my Auto Spa Detailing Enthusiasts Club.
I plan to work on my driveway and in my garage - not too big, but it easily fits two big cars (big Santa Fe and Challenger). Unfortunately, here will be no big warehouse which I had in Belgium.

Can I wash (and I mean not a rinseless wash but normal wash with soap, Iron-X (or similar), tar&glue remover, etc.) cars here in my own driveway?
I tried to look on Fairfax County web page but explanation posted there are not very clear for me.

Thanks in advance for an answer.

    Hello,

This is all I could find: Car Washing the Right Way

The information could be old, I would check with your neighbors to see what they know, and maybe contact some city officials.

I used to live in Fairfax, washed cars all the time, but now who knows....

    And Mclean is different.

are you talking about restarting your business at your home address for others to use also? if so, might be a problem with running a business in a residential area not zoned for business.

The responses show that I will be limited to my own cars for some time. That`s what I suspected

But I do not give up.
I`ll try to ask city officials about it (maybe try mobile detailing status ) and/or I`ll start looking for a place (small workshop, small warehouse, etc.) in "industrial" area quite close to my house (bicycle range ).

I will live here for next several years and I need something to do during normal days

You`re either McLean or Fairfax County. Virginia is a Communist err.. Commonwealth state so each jurisdiction has it`s own regulations. That I`m aware however neither have water restrictions, but both will enforce rules against a business run from a house and they`ll do it in a screaming hurry if someone complains.

One of the many reasons why I live so far west of the NoVa suburbs.
