    My First Business Card

I created the design and had the graphics guy where I work tweak it. He had to use a different image, since the one I picked was low res. In the end, I am very happy with this as a way to get started. Ultimately, I will be adding a website and a new phone number, and possibly an LLC. What do you think?

Nice, very straight forward and not to busy. Any more color going to be added? You have a touch of red, may the letters in your "RMS"

I like how simple it is. I agree it would probably POP with just a touch of color. Maybe a simple outline of RMS in a color of choice?

If you dont like the color idea, no worries. Go with what fits YOU!
Sometimes simple is better and whatever makes it easy for the customer remember the card is good marketing!

    Re: My First Business Card

Thanks, guys. I like the idea of red outline on RMS. I will have to add that to the next batch. The idea behind the card is to just be very clear cut, concise, and professional. People know who I am, what I do, and how to reach me. If I clutter the card up with too much, then I might answer too many questions upfront and lose the opportunity to sell my skills.

Does it has the back done too? maybe some type of color added to bring it out more, just a little.

    Re: My First Business Card

For this first run, I left the back blank. I definitely agree with everyone on the color. Kinda wish I posted this yesterday, but I get such a good price on these that it isn`t going to be a big deal to order more. Once I`ve registered a domain, gotten a business phone line, and ironed out a few more formation details I can tweak it and get another set ordered. These should be just what I need to get rolling, though.

I think it`s a nice simple start. It does look bland but it`s quick and to the point. You`ll eventually find little ways to make the card better, but for right now it`s acceptable

    Re: My First Business Card

The only change that should be required on this card is that the car be replaced with a 70 Drag Pack Mach 1. I`m kiddin` of course.

You shouldn`t feel bad about that effort at all, some guys don`t get it right even after 4 or 5 renditions. Ask a dozen people and you`ll get a dozen different suggestions for improvement. I`ve always liked an embossed edge. This is a solid card. You can add color to your RMS and perhaps a little info on the back on your next batch. This card is to the point and gives vital info. People know what you do and can get a hold of you. As has already been said, once you have your website you`ll of course want your address on it.

If you`re ever looking for advice from someone that really knows this stuff, not that other don`t, he`s here. We have a member on the site with the user name YNOT. His work is beyond excellent and he`s a real car guy as well as an enthusiast detailer. For lack of a better description think of a Chip Foose of sorts on the design side of things. There are a lot of examples of his work on the forum. Oh yeah, he`s good with the Drag Pack Mach`s too.

    Re: My First Business Card

Wow...thanks for the nice compliment Mark. I really appreciate it. Chip Foose huh? I`m flattered. That guy is one of my idols...I only wish I was 1/2 as talented as him. But yes, it`s true...I have a little experience in graphic design...over 19 years in the biz. In fact, I`ve been very fortunate to have designed a number of logos and collateral for many detailers here and elsewhere for that matter. The past several years have really allowed me some wonderful opportunities and I`m so happy for all of them. I love what I do...nothing makes me happier than seeing my work in final print.

To the OP...I have to say, it`s a pretty slick card. I really like the simplicity of it. I see many people attempting cards on here and some are decent, others make me wanna cry and jab my eyes with toothpicks. hehe.

I would say a little red (dark red) would set it off a bit around the RMS, but for a nearly b/w card, this one looks good. The RMS letters look a bit odd...different thicknesses and sizes, but all-in-all, I dig it.

    And Mark`s got a little fetish for 70 Mustangs...hehe. It`s all good!

Like the card. Can agree with the red. It`s your first things evolve. Your getting yourself out there and not a bad start at all.

    Re: My First Business Card

Those are really some great compliments, especially coming from the more seasoned members here. Thank you all. I have dabbled in graphic design for a few years, mostly pen and paper. I am just starting to get my feet wet with photoshop and the such. Much respect for the Stangs(I love em and have owned 3), but I really wanted some MOPAR new school muscle for this one. Hoping to eventually use an image of a car I have yet to detail. (xxfingerscrossedxx). As for now, these are perfect for me. Doing a couple of promo cars this weekend and I donated two gift certificates to a raffle for a local charity event. Doing my best to get my name out there. Want to fill up my weekends and a few nights a week until I feel it necessary to get a real shop and go full time.
