Getting my ducks in a row

Going to be retiring from my day job soon and have seriously considered starting up a detailing business. I`ve always loved detailing any car/truck and I need some kind of start up plan. Also considered going mobile with it since I have no garage or shop but cost on that would be an issue.

Anyone have some advice or website where I can find some info?

    Thanks - Tek

I`m NO kid, just act like one. A 53 year old kid.
New to the forum so my profile is lacking but I live in NorCal - home of some of the finest Traiblazer SS`s.
    (yup - that`s a Corvette LS-2 engine 6.0 blah,blah,blah).
And for this elcaminokid dude - ??? I`m offended.

Ok now that`s out of the way -
    any real words of wisdom?

Don`t do it! Go hang out on the beach and drink Margaritas.

Seriously. Detailing is not easy work but if you really want to then I need to know at what level you plan to work. Are we talking a few cars a week? Full time?

If your just wanting to use it to fill in some time and have extra money in your pocket then I don`t think you need to get set up as a business.

Re: Getting my ducks in a row

I`m on TBSS Owners but mine is pretty much stock since all my cash goes in the gas tank (if you know what I mean). Have done some cosmetic things - decals, rotors - but someday.
As far as the business- low key, one job a week would be great to start. Don`t need to make a living at it just like the challenge of making something look beautiful from ordinary.
Have some product knowledge and have learned alot here and elsewhere.
I like doing it so thought I`d explore

    Tek
