If you want more business one key is working on your grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It`s hard to take anyone seriously when their writing is of a 7th grade level.

So what`s written in The New York Post, LA Times, Atlanta Journal Constitution, USA Today, or any other major newspaper (excluding The Wall Street Journal) should not be taken seriously for it`s written at a 6th grade level??

Thats kinda harsh dont you think. I cant spell either. I admit it. Hell i make alot of members mad but does that mean i have less to offer? I dont think so.
I would be lucky if i wrote at a 7th grade level.. right texasTB.. but really if its readable then i dont see the issue (haha i love all the new smilies)

I post on about 4 forums and there is always someone complaining about spelling and grammar. I`m not one to because I live in a glass house. I feel as long as its readable and conveys the message then I`m good with it. Its not a business letter, resume or the likes of that.

Also one other thing to be tolerant of is some of the posters on these forums are speaking / typing / reading in a second or third language.

Funny story my wife`s German uncle (lives in Gremany) sends me a email, I print it out and she and her sisters are giggling at how he wrote in English. I said then why don`t you write back to him in German....case and point

I stick up for you. I hate when people hammer other people for stupid things.
Such as spelling. I usually miss a letter or two here and there because I type to damn fast...lol

I think it doesn`t hurt to try, but it`s not worth starting a bashing over.
My wife says my spelling gets worse every year, but my typing speed has increased

Guys i meant to say selling not advertising sorry.Guys i dont mean to come off as a jerk or anything i am far from that. I just wake up everyday to seize the oppurtunities of today.I used to be the opposite overweight,in a rut,happy when the day was over.Didnt sleep well then i meet a guy who had 3rd degree burns on 100 percent of his body lost a leg,arm ect. and this guy just loves living life jogs everyday,eats right,reads great positive books helps people ect.And my question to myself was if he can i can so i started on a journey several years ago to lose weight lost 30 lbs eat right now had sleep deprivation bad now sleep like a baby and have energy left over at the end of he day.Began to read positive books about life and people.And i visit him on a regular basis just to keep my attitude in check and listen to him speak.

I know what you meant and mean.
If you pass out fliers, make sure they are proof read a dozen time. If you hand out literature, and there are no periods, it gets hard to read and most pass it off.

Not one person here will fault you for working on improving yourself, we all can use that in some ways. However you must realize that you pop onto this site and start shouting out about how you should, talk to this amount of people, do this and that to improve your business. Without doing one thing?

You hold no creditability to what you are saying here, so how do you think members are going to react to the new guy? not very positive is my guess.

Not everyone is going to share in your new found look on life no matter what you say, and there are no magic words that you can post that will make them think that "hey!" this guy is right and I have been wrong this whole time.

Anywho I think that you will find that we are all a family here of car detailers that enjoy talking about most anything.

My advice to you is read the threads that interest you, get to know the members through that and I suspect that you will fit right in.

Every year I had a small ad in the Yellow Pages in our city. The ad did as promised: it made the phone ring.

I took a lot of calls on a daily basis, but the bulk was price shopping from the Yellow Pages ad. This was a different market than I wanted, though I did take the business. Our city is a generally frugal one, so we had lots of shoppers. Not sure how different it would be where you live

The first few years I`d have had little to do if not for the Yellow Pages. I took every job I could get and had some clients that stayed with me the whole time I was in business. Later, the bulk of my work came from referrals.
