how long do you need to work a polish with a rotary? will most break down with a single pass or do you need to work the polish more? won`t overworking a polish lead to more swirls?

I work the polish until it isnt "wet" but not dried out...heh kinda hard to describe in words. Sometimes it takes 3 passes sometimes a few more depending how much I laid down and what polish is used. Some flash way before others. Depends on what RPM`s you are running too and how warm the surface is getting.

Yeah, I just work it until it`s almost dry, just like with a PC/Cyclo.

Unless you`re using something very aggressive that really needs to break down just right it shouldn`t be that big a deal, and I`d recommend easy-to-master products while you`re getting acquainted with the rotary anyhow. Something like PI-III RC (05933) is pretty foolproof but still effective, even at reasonable speeds (i.e., ~1,250 rpms). Just don`t dry it out too much and you`ll be fine.
