People say the PC 7424 should not be used on the edges/corners of paint surfaces when polishing...what about when waxing?

Its not a problem, the PC generates very little heat from friction.....

Please, please do a search for this stuff. I hate to give the basic response for this, but you have 3 threads on the homepage alone right now asking some very simple questions.

Plus, you should still be posting in the Autopia University.

The fact is, after reading this site and the E-book millions of time, I have seen many contrasting answers to many of my own questions (because of this I get confused)....I ask questions so that it is more clear to me what the answers actually are. People must be patient with me because I must admit that I lack much common sense, but once I start to get my own (simple) questions answered, I can quickly master what I am trying to learn. Secondly, I posted this question here because I felt that this question seemed most appropriate here (it applied to Machine Polishing, correct?).

You can use the PC most anywhere. You have to avoid edges with rotary buffers.

xfire- When waxing with the PC you won`t have any problems. There just isn`t enough friction to worry about. Actually, the wax will act as a lube so the soft finishing pad will be even *more* gentle than it feels.

When *polishing* it pays to be careful, but, if working on a relatively new car with plenty of clearcoat, it won`t be a real problem. I`ve worn through soft SS (down to primer) on the edges of some older cars with just a PC and a mild polish, but those paintjobs were on their last legs anyhow.
