    Backing Plate Washer

I just received the Griots 5“ backing plate for my G9.

It came w a "fiber" type washer on the stud of the backing plate.

Do I leave it on the stud when I mount the backing plate to the G9?

If so, what is the purpose of the washer?

    Thanks!
    Dan

    Re: Backing Plate Washer

Yep, whatever backing plate you have installed should have that washer in place. (You`ll notice the installed 6" one has one in place too).

I swear that washer came up in one of the videos, but I think preventing heat transfer was one of the functions. My GG6 stock plate and 5" plate had the washer as well.
