    My opinion of the G9

I have had the opportunity to use this machine on 3 different cars. A Cadillac Escalade, a 360 Ferrari and a Toyota Sienna. All different paints and all types of damage. Ranging from minor car wash damage to parking lot scuffs. All done using the 5 inch backing plate. I will tell you this machine does everything they say it will. In my opinion it does everything a 15 will do and I guarantee you it out performs any other 15 on the market. On speed 4.5 -5 you cannot stall it! I put an extreme amount of pressure on it and it kept rotating. I’ve corrected, polished, refined and waxed with it and it performed flawlessly. It is extremely comfortable, quiet and light. I cannot recommend it enough either as a first machine or as an additional machine. And, you can’t beat the warranty!

I couldn’t get it to stall at speed 4-5 with serious pressure on it. At speed 5 on the hood of the Escalade I laid my chest on it and it kept rotating!

I`m just amazed that it won`t stall on curves with moderate pressure.

So basically their $150 DA`s better, or at least close to on par with the G15 that`s over twice the price? AND, BOSS pads 6 packs are on sale right now on AGO. God really wants me to spent my last bit of money on this machine and some pads! lol

Re: My opinion of the G9

For a hobbyist on a "limited detailing budget" (me), this is THE buffer that sounds like it fits the bill. There are a host of us hobbyist who have been asking repeatedly for quite some time, "Which buffer machine should I buy?" At this price point and what you have experienced in terms of correcting and polishing, it does intrigue me and I am sure many others, both professional and hobbyist detailers. I do wish it came with a buyer`s choice option of a 5" backing plate instead of the 6" as standard. I just think 5" pads are easier for hobbyists and occasional users to handle AND getting into some curves. I think it "fits" the 9mm stroke better as well., although I am sure the counterweights for this buffer are designed for a 6" pad. Maybe GG will offer a specifically designed 5" counterweight upgrade for user-installation in the future.

Griot`s Garage could not have a better detailing beta-tester and spokesperson that you, Mike. Keep use informed of future experiences.

I see it is now available and in stock on GG`s website. The Autopia Store has the note "call for availability", so I assume it will be available in the coming days.

Re: My opinion of the G9

Sounds like a powerful machine! The same price as a Porter Cable 7424XP, but the G9 has a 1,000 watt motor. The PC claims a 4.5 amp motor, which is about 550 watts. That`s a big difference. The G15 is 900 watts.
    My stable includes a 2019 Toyota Avalon and a 2016 BMW 550i.
