I`ll be interested to hear about that Trade-In Program. I really would consider sending the BOSS15 in.

I`d always want the GG6 for use with 3-4" pads, even though I have that Rupes and the 3" pneumatic (which probably gets used more often than anything else, quick and easy solution to spot-correction issues).

In my opinion it does everything a 15 will do and I guarantee you it out performs any other 15 on the market. On speed 4.5 -5 you cannot stall it! I put an extreme amount of pressure on it and it kept rotating. I’ve corrected, polished, refined and waxed with it and it performed flawlessly. It is extremely comfortable, quiet and light. I cannot recommend it enough either as a first machine or as an additional machine. And, you can’t beat the warranty!

Is your machine still doing ok? How often do you use it??

I really liked this new unit at first, but after 2 weeks of use my thoughts have changed.

Still working as good as new! I do understand some have had a cord issue, but I believe Griot’s is taking care of those.

I`ve had cord issues AND engine failure in only 2 weeks. Was also told today their "money back guarantee" will only actually get you a store credit.
Very disappointed in griots garage today ...

That sucks that they couldn`t make an exception, but perhaps understandable since your machine was a replacement/trade up from a GG6.

I think you stated that you`d be happy just getting another new GG6? Was that a no go?

I used several different polishers on a car this past Saturday. I did a test spot with the GG6 with a Megs 3" MF Cut Disc on a curvy part. Went well, finished off quite decently.

Followed up with the G15 with 5" Megs MF Cut disc on a larger, flatter section. Didn`t finish out as nice.

Swapped to the Flex 3401 with the same pad combo, and it finished off better than G15

Observations: The GG6 felt "heavy" to me. Also, felt like it vibrated harsher than I remember. Following that up with the G15, that machine actually felt a bit lighter, a bit quieter, and quite a bit smoother than the GG6. What made me STOP using the G15, was that the cutting stage with the larger orbit didn`t finish out as well as with the other two machines with smaller orbits.

Right then, i decided I really do want the new G9. What made me NOT go out and buy it? The fact that the particular use for the GG6 at that moment, I was using it with a 3" pad! Can`t do that with the new G9. Oh well.
You tried Griots 5.5`` m/f pads? And what compound are you using? I`d think thats a compound/polish issue if your using the 5.5`` Griots pads.

In that post, I used Megs MF cut discs, along with Megs d300.

I don`t own enough Griots MF pads to do a whole car

They no longer stock the gg6. He told me I might find one to purchase at AutoZone
