Price isn`t "really" a concern of mine. As long as it`s quality and gets the job done. Cyclo`s aren`t cheap and I own one of those. So anything in that range I`ll be good with.

Well in that case, as a Flex guy I`ll suggest this kit:

FLEX XFE7-15 Long Throw Uro-Tec Foam Pad Kit - Pick Your Pads

But you`ll need more pads so get at least 3 white and yellow Uro-tecs.

Or if you`d perfer to go the Rupes route, this is a very nice kit:

Rupes LHR21 MarkII Big Foot Random Orbital Polisher Deluxe Kit FREE SHIPPING

Again, you`ll need more pads than the 4 it comes with.

And then this kit from Griots is another option:

Griots Garage BOSS G21 Long Throw Orbital Polisher Deluxe Kit

At the end of the day, you`re not going to go wrong with any of the above.

The Rupes 15 would be my choice if I could only buy one. With Rupes building a factory in the USA you could even buy patriotic if that is your thing. I reach for my 15 over the 21 due to size, but it is nice to have them all!

I think it largly depends on the vehicle youll use it on. I have a 21mm machine and its terrible on my 14` jeep GC, my GG6 with a 3" gets most of the use. On my ram truck it proves itself, but I still think the GG6 spins better and offers better correction. Im not a pro though so .02.

I do know a few pros on facebook who pick up the cheapo harbor freight machine as their primary tool, similar to the gg6.

Any Cyclo users out there (Accumulator).....any of these machines compare to the cyclo in the area of paint correction?

The Rupes Duetto, and Mini, are nice and powerful. I use the Adams mini for 1" & 2" work, then when I pick up the Rupes the power is remarkable.

Eh, I never found the Cyclo all *that* efficient for really aggressive correction, more of a Medium-to-Finishing sort of tool. And yeah, I`ve used it with wool/Sure-Buffs/etc.

I mean, yeah..it`s better than some/?most? PC-type 5"-6" setups and it *is* considered a long-throw, but I sure wouldn`t be surprised if something with a 15mm throw could do major correction a lot faster. My Flex 3401 with its forced rotation simply kills the Cyclo for cutting off paint in a timely manner.

That`d be an interesting comparison IMO...the Cyclo vs. [whatever].

I`m fairly pleased with the cyclo and the right combo of products. I recently did a white Tundra with heavy oxidation. Used M205 and M105 with orange and green pads and it came out super nice.

General Lee- Come to think of it, somehow I`ve never tried M105 via Cyclo, at least not that I recall off-hand.

How does M105`s short work-time work with the Cyclo?

truthfully, skip the XFE7-15, and get a Boss G21 if youre swaying to getting a Longthrow..

I would suggest checking out the Makita PO5000c, Really bad ass tool, its what the flex 3401 should of been.
short stroke, High RPM and High OPM
body is longer then both my 3401 and my G21
out corrects my 3401, never tested it side by side with G21
really smooth, well balanced, no vibration/numbness left in your hands like the 3401...smoother then my G21 and the XFE7-15

put it this way I`ve been a Huge Longthrow guy, with the 3401, I hated forced rotation..and graduated to its ok, but I wont ever reach for it

new makita, i enjoy using it like my G21 and actually grab it more now..and really don`t need my 75E like I do when i use my G21

just dont plan to use the free spin mode for anything but waxing or clay disc....other then that it stays in forced mode.

ps...Really wish Rupes would update the cyclo with more balls(bigger motor, more torque..more OPM)...and get rid of the flip switch for traditional switch

I saw no issues with it. I keep reminding myself "short work time" and try not to work it long. 2-3 passes initially and follow up with 2-3 light pressure passes and be done. I actually like the M205 and M105 combo.

The Duetto and Mini are my main weapons of choice. I have them both set up on my cart, and grab the one I need for the panel I`m working on.
