    Is one that much better...

...than the other? The Griots Garage 6" vs the PC 7424XP DA polisher. I am still undecided. The GG6 is about $30 more than the PC, with the money difference I cold get some extra pads. So, would the GG be better in the long run or would the PC be adequate for the casual use.

GG6 is better in long run..as when you decide to upgrade to another you may upgrade to a griot 3inch backingplate for your GG6

PC had a pretty good reputation for durability and reliability.

If you`re a casual user, you shouldn`t have any issues sending out a broken gg6, and wait for the new one. They`ll replace it for life too.

I personally went with the PC.

Having used both, GG6 has more power than the PC.. sadly I only have the PC in my tools.

I have a PC and recently added a G15. Griots warranty alone made it a no brainer to go with them.

AFAIK the PC XP still has a hollow shaft that can fracture and gouge the paint/metal/whatever. Happened to (the relatively MIA) Barry and he was really lucky he didn`t do any damage. Utter deal-breaker for me, besides how I found both my (pre-XP) PCs to be utter [crap] comared to my other polishers... in performance, build quality, you name it. Don`t plan to ever by another PC brand tool of any kind.

Thanks for all of your input. I think I will save my pennies for the gg6.

Try Autozone for a great deal on GG. Usually 20-25% off and Autopia price matches!
